Meet your Psychologist,
Lauren

I work with adolescents (14+) and adults who are navigating difficult periods of overwhelm, transition, or feeling stuck. This may show up as anxiety, depression, grief, identity exploration, or the nagging sense that change is necessary to shift old, unwanted patterns. My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in intention and empathy. I would like therapy to be a space where you will feel supported, but also gently challenged. My work is primarily informed by narrative therapy, with the flexible integration of other evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, and DBT where appropriate. This allows me to tailor the process to your needs, rather than reducing you into a single framework.
I also have a particular interest in health psychology, this branch of psychology includes adjusting to physical illness or injury, building sustainable health behaviours, and fostering a more holistic state of wellbeing.
I completed my Master of Health Sciences in Counselling Psychology at North-West University in 2023, and currently see clients in-person in Cape Town, as well as online across South Africa.

My Approach
Depth over quick fixes. Presence over performance.
This practice is grounded in the belief that meaningful healing happens when we:
-
Slow down enough to listen
-
Create safety within the body and mind
-
Explore patterns with curiosity, not judgement
-
Reconnect with personal values and inner wisdom
Sessions integrate:
-
Evidence-based psychotherapy
-
Somatic awareness and nervous system regulation
-
Elements of Eastern philosophy and mindfulness
-
Reflective, insight-oriented dialogue
The aim of this work is to support you in reclaiming your own strengths and capacity to heal.
